Let's get moving for Ronald McDonald House!

Every year, thousands of families from around New Zealand will turn to a Ronald McDonald House for free accommodation and support during their child’s medical treatment.

In 2017 we were one of those families. Having a comfortable home, hot showers, food, and other families around really made a huge difference during a very difficult time

Please help me help other RMHC families by giving whatever you can using the 'Give Now' button.

The more people that know about RMHC® New Zealand, the greater their impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.

Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!

My Updates

My Reason

Wednesday 21st Oct
On September 2nd 2017 our wee boy Lorenzo was born in Hawkes Bay via emergency c-section. For the next two days he struggled to  feed. When he was two days old we were told that he would need to go to Wellington as something was wrong but it couldn't be identified or treated in Hawkes Bay. A few hours later he and I were on a Life Flight to Wellington while his Dad and Nonna frantically drove down. As soon as we arrived he was taken into surgery, thankfully in the exceptionally capable hands of surgeon Mark Stringer.

While we stood there numb and in shock waiting for our baby a nurse told us that everything was arranged for us to stay at Ronald McDonald House just across the street and that we should get settled in while we waited. This began our journey with RMHC. Through surgeries, follow-ups, and emergencies we spent about 5 weeks in total living at the house. Some families spend months. Always knowing there would be a friendly face, a warm bed, a hot shower, and food made a horrible situation so much easier. We didn't have to focus on anything except our little boy.

I can never show enough gratitude for RMHC so this challenge to help them raise money for other families means so much to me. Families with sick children have so many things to deal with, stress, worry, separation from home and family. Without RMHC everything would be even harder so please consider giving a little something to help them keep doing this amazing work.
